About me:

I like stories and as an illustrator I try to translate them into images.

Why I was interested in this project:

I am very happy to be part of the People's Panorama project as it allows me to encounter some beautiful stories framed by the buildings of High Street 2012.

Significant Buildings Researched:

  1. 1. 199 Whitechapel Road [view]

It is currently used as a restaurant on both ground and first floor with storage space on the top floor. Interesting visual contrast of the Indian restaurant`s décor to the medieval English enterior space.

  2. 2. 265-267 Whitechapel Road [view]

The building looks insignificant with the gate to the alleyway locked (it was locked in 2004 as a consequence of criminal activities), only a sign above the gate reads as “Wood Buildings” .

  3. 3. The Grave Maurice [view]

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to see the building from the inside. From the outside looks very spacious and well proportioned.

  4. 4. Whitechapel Station [view]

  5. 5. 279-281 Whitechapel Road [view]

Busy shop on the ground floor and graffiti left side door leads to the apartments above.

  6. 6. 283-5 Whitechapel Road [view]
