Significant Buildings Researched:
1. The Royal Oak [view]
Pubs were once so important to the area, and no doubt hold many interesting stories, that it’s a shame to see it in this state
2. 138-142 Whitechapel Road [view]
What was clearly once a handsome Georgian or Victorian building can be seen behind an ugly modern shopfront. It could be handsome once again if it was renovated
3. Booth House [view]
Jonny: The Salvation army is such a well-known organization, that it is interesting to find out what this building commemorates, that Booth started the Salvation Army nearby by preaching on the streets of Whitechapel.
4. The Davenant Centre [view]
A really interesting building that still carries the original name, and original function as to provide education to young people in Whitechapel, albeit in a different way.
