Bromley Public Hall was a meeting place for many residents in the area since it was first built, including for East London suffragette meetings. They were barred from the hall in 1913 and protested by marching to the house of the Conservative councillor at 13 Tomlins Grove who had voted for the ban. Today the building is used as a Registry Office so it the site of an important moment in the lives of many people.
