The Urban Bar, formally London Tavern Hospital, possibly dates from 1752 - when the London hospital was built, as Mrs Sarah Parsons applied for the North-East corner of the hospital for the purposes of building a public house which might be the LTH. It was here in the early 60s that the famous gang fight between the Kray Twins and their "firm", and the 'Watney Streeters" took place. The Kray Twins won, starting their dominance over the East End.
