Number 5 Bow Road has been home to the artist Richard Sleemn for several years. Sleeman is an artists and architect and has worked at number 5 "reconstructing" an imagined vision of the 1822's Bow Arts Club about which very little is know. He offered an open art school in the building, and the front garden full of quirky objects such as wooden carousel horses became a local landmark. In Spring 2012 he was evicted by his landlord.
