  • Historic period: Unknown
  • This is a significant building

The site, rather than the current buildings, contains an interesting mix of histories. A recent archaeological survey uncovered evidence of late 17th cenutry/early 18th century occupation, and until the mid-20th Cenutry the site operated as a show card maufacturers. 'Show cards' told people about upcoming events, and would have been useful to the many pubs and entertainment venues that were local to this building. The site sufferend significant bomb damage in World War II. In 1989, the site was home to 'Echos' nightclub, which was a famous venue in the history of rave and acid house music. The site is currently under development into 23 flats.
